Ithaca College congratulates students named to Dean's List for the spring 2017 semester.
The following local residents were among the 606 students who received degrees during the Commencement exercises at Grove City College on May 20, 2017. Delivering this year's Commencement address was Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence. The Class of 2017 was the largest class in Grove City College 140 year history. In recent years, the Grove City College's four-year graduation rate has climbed to 78 percent, while its six-year graduation rate has reached 83 percent. The average graduation rate in the U.S. is 59 percent.
Kent State continues strong university enrollment by welcoming a record-setting freshman class, in terms of size, diversity, and quality based on GPA. These academically motivated freshmen have an average GPA of 3.4 and an average ACT score of above 23.
More than 500 students earned endowed scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of endowed scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. More than 385 named scholarships provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.
The following students from the Colgate University Class of 2016 have been inducted into the Colgate chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the national scholastic honorary society that recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of first-year students. The approximately 167 students who received the prestigious distinction for having earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the 2011-2012 academic year were honored at a fall banquet.
The following students achieved membership in Kappa Mu Epsilon, National Mathematics Honor Society, in the spring 2016 semester.
Dance Marathon is the largest philanthropy organization on campus. Lasting 12 hours, the marathon consists of performers, dance and education about HIV/AIDS. All proceeds were donated to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which seeks to educate and reduce the the transmission and cases of pediatric AIDS worldwide.
